Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation deadlines, refund eligibility and processing for AlayaSetu-supported seva bookings.
Effective date: 19 October 2026
1. Cancellation deadline and full refund
A seva booking is eligible for a full refund of the amount paid when the cancellation request is received on or before 8:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) on the day before the scheduled seva date. The time the request is received, rather than the time support replies, determines whether it meets the cutoff.
For example, for a seva scheduled on 21 October, submit your cancellation request by 8:00 PM IST on 20 October.
Requests received after the cutoff, including same-day cancellations, are reviewed with the temple; a full refund is not guaranteed under this cancellation rule. This does not limit any applicable rights for a service that was not provided or for an incorrect collection.
2. How to cancel
Email alayasetu@gmail.com with the temple name, booking or receipt reference, seva date, devotee name and payment reference. Send the request before the cutoff above. Keep a copy of your request. Support will verify the booking and coordinate the cancellation and refund with the collecting party.
3. Refund mode and timeline
Approved online-payment refunds are returned to the original payment method/source account through which the payment was made. Refund credit is generally expected within 5–21 days after the refund is initiated, depending on the payment provider, payment method and bank. This is an estimated processing range, not a guaranteed bank-credit deadline.
We will communicate the refund initiation status and reference when available. If the refund has not arrived within 21 days of initiation, contact us with your booking and refund reference so we can follow up with the payment provider. Approval alone does not mean a refund has already been initiated.
Cash payments and payments collected directly by a temple are refunded by the original collecting party after verification. Support will coordinate the applicable refund method and timing; the online gateway processing estimate does not apply to cash refunds.
4. If a temple cannot provide the seva
Contact support with your booking details if the temple cancels or cannot provide a confirmed seva. We will verify the issue and coordinate the applicable refund or another resolution agreed with you. The voluntary cancellation cutoff above does not by itself exclude such requests.
5. Failed, duplicate or incorrect payments
If money is deducted but the booking remains pending, ask staff to check the same booking before paying again. Report duplicate or incorrect collections with the amount, date and transaction reference. Failed-payment reversals are reconciled under the relevant bank and payment provider procedures; they are distinct from voluntary booking-cancellation refunds.
6. Cancelling an unpaid QR
Where available, authorised staff can request cancellation of an unpaid QR. Once confirmed, it stops new payments through that QR. It does not refund an already completed payment. Staff must still check for delayed payments and handle paid-booking refunds separately. The current counter software does not issue automatic refunds.
7. Returns
The seva bookings described here are services, not shipped physical products. Physical product returns do not apply to these bookings.
