Payment Process
How participating temple counters use AlayaSetu to prepare bills, collect supported payments and confirm bookings.
How bookings and payments work
- A devotee selects an available seva at a participating temple counter.
- Authorised temple staff enter the seva date, devotee details and number of persons in AlayaSetu Temple Admin.
- The bill preview shows the selected seva, rate per person, person count and total in INR before payment.
- For an enabled UPI payment, a booking-specific QR is generated. The devotee scans it using their own UPI app and authorises the payment.
- The booking remains pending until the server verifies the payment. A confirmed receipt can then be printed or downloaded.
Cash and externally collected card payments can also be recorded by authorised staff after confirming receipt. Recording a card payment does not mean this website processes card details.
Bill review before payment
The bill review shows the temple, seva, date, devotee details, persons, rate and total amount in INR. Staff should confirm these details with the devotee before generating a QR or recording an external payment.
Gateway collection and settlement
The supplied counter integration uses Razorpay for booking-specific UPI QR payments where enabled. Payments are processed through the configured gateway merchant account. Bank settlement follows that account's gateway arrangement; payment confirmation and bank settlement are separate steps.
The current software does not automatically split payments, transfer proceeds to temples, deduct a platform commission or issue refunds. Any onward settlement to a temple requires a separate arrangement with the operator. Direct settlement to a temple must not be assumed from the payment QR.
Pending or uncertain payments
A scanned QR or screenshot alone does not confirm a booking. Wait for verified payment status and a confirmed receipt. If funds are deducted while the booking remains pending, ask the counter to check the same booking and contact support before paying again.
Cancellation and refunds
Closing an unpaid QR and refunding a completed payment are different actions. Paid booking cancellation requests received by 8:00 PM IST on the previous day qualify for a full refund. Online refund credit is generally expected 5–21 days after initiation to the original payment method. Read the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
